No. Just don't ever run an engine that isnt fully at opperating temp (water, block, oil) hard.

It says vary your engine speed during the first 500 miles or something. Meaning don't drive it off the lot then keep it on cruise control at 65 for the next 3 hours.

I basically let the car warm up and drove it like I stole it for the first 500 miles. Didn't slam the gears in but basically redlined it gently (yes it sounds odd) a coupla times. Took it out to some windy backcountry roads, sport mode, and had my way with it. Took it up to 100+.

1300 miles now, no problems yet.

Yeah, your engines fine. street engines are basically designed with worse case scenario in mind, non synthetic oil, being changed at 10k miles, no warm up time before hard use, just the general abuse policy. Really don't worry about it, besides its the first 20 miles that seat the rings, if your worrying about a good seal at 400 its way way past to late.

Just drive and don't worry about it, that is what the warranty is for. Do you think they warm them up when they drive on and off the ships? Do you think the port guys have some fun? The engine gets broke in as far as the rings when they start the car to drive off the line. Unless you are there at the end of the line like they do with the Corvette, there is not really much you can do. Has anyone ever went for a test drive. I know I surely did not take it easy and the car had 5 miles on it.

Everyone's opinion is different, you should vary the engine speed though... When I bought my evo8 I literally took it off the lot and started driving the living hell out of it. No joke, and my engine and car was completely fine!!! I wouldn't recommend doing that but my car was fine.

We've had this discussion in this forum several months back.. A quick search should revel it with sources citing the same this Eric said.
