As for the ECU flashing helping gas mileage. No. Unless you you want that kind of re-flash but for the most part unless you specify that's what you want out of it it will not help gas mileage.

Not totally correct, a tune will lean out the car. If you drive it sensibly a tune will make a bit of a difference (yes even a performance tune) I get 20-30miles/tank (edited: I said mpg obviously a mistake :P) more tuned then not tuned when driving easy. I have tested this a couple times by loading factory flash, and AMS flash. The catch is, once you get the tune you tend to drive a bit more aggressively using as much or more full as before.

Depending on who you talk to, the car is fully broken in between 500 and 1,500 miles: Everyone seems to have their own opinion. Generally speaking, the main thing you want to avoid during the break-in period is driving at the same rpm for a prolonged period of time. Most people don't do that anyway, and now that you have 900 miles on the car, you should be fine.

As for the increase in mpg, I've seen maybe +1 mpg, but that could have more to do with my driving than anything else. From what I've heard, a tune could net you an additional +2-3 mpg, but I have no first-hand experience with that.

That being said, about the best you can hope for is about 28 mpg highway; 22 mpg city; and about 24-26 mpg mixed driving. And that is optimistic.

It took me about until 100 miles after my first oil change at 2700 miles. Right now, on the highway, I'm getting 26-27mpg cruising at 75mph.

At 60-65mph, I've seen as high as 28mpg.

Guys it says right in the manual, do not take the car over 5000rpm for the first 3000km(i think it could be 5000km) And avoid constant rpm driving.

Its not heresay, its right in the manual

Company speak for taking time and mileage off the warranty. Baby it to essentially help out the manufacturer. Reduce the time the car is under stress from the driver. I have never broken in any motor. Just drive the thing and change the oil frequently. If its good its good, and if its bad you find out sooner.

Under 5000 rpm for first 3000 km? That sounds a little too safe. I mean, that's a LOT of miles to be babying it around. Though to be fair, when I'm really flogging it, I usually shift at 5000-5500 anyway, beyond that torque starts dropping.
