Use what the manual states. If it says 91+ use 91+. If it says 87, use 87. Putting 93 in a car that requires 87 is a waste.

If the manual says 91, and you're completely stock, you shouldn't get any knock with 91 octane. That being the case, a higher octane is useless. However, if you're tuned, a higher octane can obviously resist knock better thus allowing a more aggressive tune or a larger safety margin in the event that the tune is a bit too aggressive for 91.

THIS.

And gas is gas. Top tier or not. They are refined at the same plants. I noticed zero differences (logged too). As long as the station doesn't blend its 93, its good. (Some are bastards, and will top off the 93 tanks with 87...)
