Ralliart really run that rich???

I have a question. Do our Ralliarts really run rich? The reason I ask is I've had several people from work tell me that when they were behind me and I hopped on it that a puff of black smoke came out. Hell my friend from work came in this morning and game me a hard time telling me I really need to clean the carbon out of that thing because he was behind me yesterday in his mustang when we were getting on the highway and he said when I hopped on it a puff of black smoke came out the tail pipes. I don't beat the pi$$ out of my Ralliart but I don't baby it either. Also I'm completely stock so I would think a tune would lean it out if in fact the Ralliart does run that rich from stock.

Yes the RA does run rich; a tune will help even that out. I'm sure you have a nice layer of soot building up on your tailpipes like the rest of us.

A small amount of smoke is normal when you first stomp the gas. It may happen even with a tune.

That's kind of what I thought. No wonder the thing sucks down fuel if it's dumping that much into each cylinder. Oh well I'd rather have it run rich than lean. Thx for confirming what I thought.

not sure how many miles you have on your RA, but I have 12000 km and the mileage seems to be getting better and better. I can get over 500 km on a tank now with just freeway driving.

I have 4000 mi on mine. It is better now than it had been brand new. That's good to know. 500 km (310mi) that's really good. I think I've been mainly getting around 220 mi per tank but that is a mix of city/hwy. Not that it really matters. I didn't buy my Ralliart because of the fuel mileage.

Maybe I need to slow it down....35,000km now, and MIGHT get 500km to a tank!

horrible mileage....but so worth it!

I only have 20,000 km, but I absolutely agree that it's worth it.

All turbo cars run rich from the factory as a safety precaution.

Yes turbo cars run rich from factory but the RA is on the leaner end of the scale (hence the debate re needing a retune when installing new intake). The EVO X runs much richer than our poor RA's.
