removing trunk liner
removing trunk liner
So - I have a brand new RA with only 5k miles on it and there is a rip in the trunk lining.... part of thinks I should just get it replaced at the dealer since it's under warranty, but then part of me is wondering if it would look cooler and sound cooler by adding slightly more engine/exhaust noise while driving (less material absorbing sound).
Has anyone removed the lining and does it look clean without it? It looks really flimsy, but at the same time I don't want to make a mess of things by removing it.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
On my Evo 8, I never ran the liner - had suspension things that got in the way. Noticed some more noise in the cabin. But not that bad (and with all the noises my car made - par for the course).
i think you should have some thing covering the little "wood" covers and the foam.
any time you would put anthing back there it would be beating that stuff up.....
...........the inside of you truck would look bad real quick.

i took the liner out and the foam holder things along with the spare tire. I need to put a few towels under the mat though since when the dealership replaced my acd pump they spilled some oil :/ but i haven't really noticed much more noise from when it was there, except i have to turn the 'punch' on the sub 1 number lower than before since it's noticably louder.
