Unhappy Half tank of 87

Hey everyone, I need some help.

So I let my GF drive my Ralliart to work today (damn SST! ) and she being the appreciative, caring women she is decided to fill up my tank. Only problem is she thought the different gas grades were "just for show". So, as of now I have a half-tank full of 87 grade gas.

I know this is not ideal but how bad is this for my engine? I'm currently running stock.

Drain it and start with 93 or go to 1/2 or 3/4 tank and mix in some 105oct in there.

By drain I'm assuming you mean siphon it out?

If you stay out of boost you are fine. Just drive the car without going WOT for the next 300 miles (I know it is torture!) and then fill up with 93 and you are all set. If you can't live with 300 miles of slow no boost driving, do as suggested by Evoryder.... just make sure you use UNLEADED 105 octane if you go that route.

Get a LEGIT octane booster if your really worried, and fill the tank the rest of the way with 91 or 93, you will be fine.

lol!

jeeze just fill it up with premium, 87 can be used in case of emergency as per the manual. It's not like your engine or any of its components are going to blow up for putting in 87 just this once.

i prob wouldnt put any additives like octain booster, but some race gas wouldnt be a bad idea to try to bump up the 87. but i def. wouldnt use some shat like stp, or NOS type of octain booster. good luck

What he said. And dump the girl, stat.

j/k man but it's not a life-and-death situation... just drive with a lighter foot for a while and keep topping up with the highest octane you can get.

Half a tank of 87 + half a tank of 93 should be around 90 octane.

Car will run 100% at 91 so 90 should be a-ok. Hell all they get in some states is 91.
