Quickest method to launch?
Hey
So, I'm getting the urge to smoke some mid-priced audi's and bmw's in this beautiful weather.
What do I need to do to reach the 5.5s to 60mph and is it possible without to much wear on the tranny?

No it's stock
i've just seen some Youtube clip from mpgomatic when they reach 5.5 at, what they are claiming to be stock. He revs it before he launches it. Dunno if he used the break pedal or handbrake (emergency break?).

Probably not the E-Brake... It won't really prevent you from moving when you hit the gas.
Left foot on the brake which u release as u floor the gas with TC-SST in Sport automatic

He doesn't do anything to launch the car in that video, he just mashes the pedal. That delay where the RPM sit at 2500-3000 is the car slipping the clutch to get moving.
There's a sound at 6 seconds in the clip or 3k rpm that sounds like release of breaks or similiar, and the speedometer starts moving at that time.

I'm not sure about that!

Get in your car and step on the accelerator from a standstill and it will look exactly like this.
The noise is just him stepping on the gas and the RPM jump up to ~2500. The speedometer doesn't move at this point because it won't until after 5 MPH. The clutch fully grabbing (the RPM rising from ~2500) and the speedometer starting to move look to be about the same time, so it is a little confusing. I do hear a second click right after the first, but who knows what it is.

I have been mostly in the adrenaline turbo moment when I've launched it so havn't really kept my eyes on the meters :X
What happens if you rev it at Neutral and tap it down to drive? Sounds like the same way you would launch a manual, but havn't dared to try it as it's my first car with auto tranny.
then you get one freebie. Don't "neutral-drop" your car. imagine a shrapnel grenade and you'll get the picture. atleast, this is the case with any other car with a standard auto tranny. this TC-SST may have some magic "don't shred itself to pieces" magic inside of it that i don't know of.

It really didn't feel wrong and the tranny seemed to handle it great and I did get quite alot better mileage driving this way to work.
Do you think it puts stress on the tranny anyway? Didn't feel like it!
