Customer pay shop for repair order??
Customer pay shop for repair order??
Has anyone seen this, and should I be concerned? There were a couple of parts they had to order for a warranty repair, and I wonder if they charged for that.... sounds like BS to me.
I can bring it up with the dealer, but if this is a common thing I don't want to be starting anything as we have a pretty good relationship now.

That is the Hyatt groups newest sir charge cough, cough "we have got a condo project in the Cayman Islands fund" Wink ,Wink.
It would have been good practice for them to inform you prior to accepting warrenty work that this type of charge applies.
I have had my issues with Hyatt service going back as far as 1992 when they only had the small Hyatt Saturn dealership on Blackfoot.

No that is not normal. Warranty work is just that...warranty work. If you tell us what was/wasn't covered it may help more. If all of it was covered then you shouldn't be paying a penny.
I had a oil change & service, and wheel alignment.
I also had the stereo checked because it wasn't working correctly, and that is under warranty and they ordered a new stereo, along with another part they discovered was cracked and needed to be replaced, also under warranty (cant remember which part).
If the 30 bucks is part of the wheel alignment then it's ok. Their work orders are hard to read IMO.

That charge is the shop supplies/waste disposal fee for the work order.
What most shops do for the shop supply/waste disposal fee is they charge a percentage of the total work order.
What you need to do is go back to them and have them calculate that based on the oil change cost and not the entire work order. They are trying to get a little extra money out of you.
If they need to, they need to create two work orders so that their computer system can handle the correct billing. One for the oil change, and the other for the warranty work. With warranty work, you do not need to pay those shop charges, warranty will cover those.

I can't see what your repair order says because the website is blocked at my work; however the most you should pay for shop supplies no matter the bill is $30.00 or under and a $3.00 waste oil fee. That is how it works at the mits dealer I work at. and we do not charge shop supplies on warranty work. expensive alignment unless you asked for them to do some special stuff. I dont live in Calgary so I can't compare prices and I know Brandon at Platnium is a good guy and someone i go to if I have any performance questions.
