The power distribution is always 50/50. The different modes control how quickly the center differential goes into a free state.

Yes, except it's more how quickly it locks up...

Everywhere I've read about the ACD, they refer to the locking up as a free state. Seems kind of weird to me, but probably makes sense when you look at the engineering a bit deeper.

So the ralliart is always 50/50, is the evo x also 50/50, how about the evo VIIII since we have the same awd is it also 50/50?

That's referring to steering inputs. It will open up as not to bind.

With the tarmac, gravel and snow settings....think I read this somewhere...

In tarmac mode ACD is unlocked as soon as you turn.
In gravel mode it stays locked when turning going above 40mph.
In snow mode it stays locked when turning going above 30mph.

If you put it in snow mode and turn the wheel and drive around in a circle it will not bind the drive train, so its clearly unlocked.

However - put it in snow and gravel going 70mph on the highway and change lines as fast as you can and you will feel the resistance.

I want to re-program it so in snow mode it applies full locking force all the time!

Also - if you were turning in tarmac mode - and the front 2 wheels were on ice and spun freely - would the ACD lockup to prevent power disappearing - even though your in tarmac mode and turning?

Can anyone put in simple turns what and how the car would handle in the different modes, I just wanna understand more clearly why Tarmac mode is the best on dry pavement, snow for snow and gravel for dirt and rain.

Bad idea. With snow tires, always put your best tires at the back.

That seams unnatural but your back tire are the ones that keep you straigth on the road.

If you put your best tires in front, you might end up doing a 180 when hard braking on light snow or ice (I can testify by personal experience).
