Im pretty sure it was the tune i had..i dont think it was tuned properly.. i had a gauge and if i was really on it i would see 26 sometimes even 27 and my AFR would range from 9.7 to 10..im not sure if thats good or not?

Even if the AFR and the boost were in check, if the ignition timing was off enough to allow large amounts of knock it can blow an engine.

Detonation of the mix before the spark plugs ignite it is bad in gasoline reciprocating engines... very bad...

I imagine by 26 sometimes 27 that that is boost... and thats too much u prob blew it from over boostin. You should always make sure when u get a car tuned that the place has done ralliarts before. Tuning isnt the same for cars, its different between models and the same models even vary slightly like two 09 RA's get tuned by the same person you could have one that is a bit more powerful than the other with the same tune. FYI make sure ur tuner has tuned other cars like yours.

Had you been getting any Check Engine Lights before this happened, or did it just occur without any warning signs?

Who did your tune? Was it Hackish in Ottawa?

that sucks man... but if you got a tune in the summer... maybe you need to bring it back to stock in the winter? Air temps are very different...

Send a PM to hackish and let him know what happened. I would ask him if a 2nd tune is needed for winter time to take into affect the drastic temp changes
