Hey so im new to my ralliart and modding in general and was looking do do some decent but cheap mods. Is this the Z-Chip for the RA? Because there is no mention of it, only the evo.

http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/Z-Chip/Z-Chip.htm

Does anyone have any experience with this? Does it work, or am I better off finding somewhere to do a tune

I don't know too much about the Z chip, but I believe it was developed as a tuning aid before the factory ecu was understood. A tune, via re-flash of the stock ecu, is now the way to go.

There are some reviews on them in the X section. I don't have an opinion of them... don't know enough about them

thanks guys. so i guess i should tune instead... do you think there will be a noticable increase in power with just a tune? I dont think i want to spend the money on uicp or evo x intercooler right now

Have a look at the 2009 Lancer Ralliart - GST Basemap thread in the engine/turbo/drivetrain forum. That's a good and fairly inexpensive way to start out.

Tune is definitly a noticeable increase, i have uicp, licp, and evo fmic and it all made a big difference.
