Please note that all projector retrofits require HID bulbs, HID ballasts, and a relayed wiring harness to complete the conversion if your car did not originally come with HID lighting.

All right guys, So many have wondered if you can take the evo x HID OEM projectors and hook them up plug and play style to a non HID connectors.. answer is yes.. as you can see, on the passenger side is the OEM evo X headlight, and the other side i have aftermarket HID which is way brighter. Most likely is the angle and day light where you see the aftermarket light being way brighter... all i have to do is order the switch to have them move up and down.
The headlight is a test headlight borrowed from my friend which i will end up purchasing.
So, confirmation:
Headlight fits perfect 100%
Headlight functionality 100%
*** now i do have jrox relay installed for the aftermarket hids, may be thats why they didnt flicker..

Sure you don't need a harness? I asked my stealership and they told me that its not worth installing HID projectors because the stock harness would burn up...

OEM halogen headlight has DRL on the low beam... you *need* an harness to disable low beam and an relay to fully use the high beam of the OEM Projector HID.
Anyone doing this swap should contact "retrofitsource.com" and tell them you want to fit an E55 projectors onto a Lancer, I'm sure they can give u the answer (and the harness u need)
btw, if u say ur aftermarket HID is brighter.. thats because 1. Your projector is aimed too low ... or 2. what you consider bright is glare = bad for oncoming traffic...
thats almost like having the highbeam on full time

wish i would have seen this before this is old news, i could have let u know but at least now you have seen it with your own eyes and you know for sure. nice video too!
if you have both harnesses a big and a small then the swap is direct no modification needed.

lol never ask a dealership about modifications. the dealer dropped their jaw when they saw my oem evo x hood on my lancer, they also dropped their jaw and scratched their head when they saw my recaro seats...they thought it was an evo but then saw the cvt and they were like O_o....so i explained to them the modifications and they were still O_O
