Heated recaros

hey guys, i saw an SE the other day that had the same cloth recaro's as ours but with heaters. Does anyone know if we can buy an aftermarket heating element and put them in ourselves? I tried asking the parts department for the heaters out of the SE but apparently they only sell the cushions with heaters in them for a ridiculous amount of money.

I bet that's because you're in Canada. I'm thinkin that heated recaros are probably standard for all Ralliarts sold in Canada.

Yeah that's standard up North

total0wnage: You can definitely find an aftermarket place for heated seats (they provided that service at the place where I got my tint done, but I didn't ask about the cost since I have the heated cloth recaros). Guarantee that's cheaper than whatever the dealer is charging to stiff you.

My Concern is, If I buy generic heaters I don't want them to get too hot and burn the Recaros or something lol, these seats are too expensive to replace

heated seats are must up in Toronto.

Wondering if you can McGuyver the heating element and retrofit into your seats

have you tried a scrap yard / Used uto Parts store?

I had a retrofit done into my old veedub.
I paid someone $500 to do it so I'm not 100% sure whats involved.
But basically they took a used OEM unit, trimmed the seat cushion from my car, and wired it to a fancy toggle switch.

This was 10-12 years ago with parts around here being scarce. I can only imagine the amount of parts lying around a Japanese Used Auto part / importer shop would have.

No I haven't tried yet cause I'm worried the random heating element I might buy, may burn the cloth lol. Im not sure which one I need to buy and which is safe for recaros
