I believe it is the same part #AP-MIT-002

(Just checked COBB's site and it is the same)

Yep, just like stated above, it is the same unit for the EVO X and RA.

While they are not cheap, I am happy with my Cobb AP, and plan to get a Pro Tune loaded on my AP in the near future once all my mods are done.

Well I'm not sure what your point is, but just in case you doubt the credibility or possibility for that matter, it is always a good idea to first do a little research before just opening mouth and inserting foot... Yeah it is done all the time, it is called a Cobb Pro Tune, and it is done locally just like any other custom tune, but then loaded on the AP just like another MAP so one can load to their car or remove and reinstall stock settings when they choose. Here is an excerpt from the CBRD post below:

I am also a Cobb Protuning center- and would be ok with supplying some basic maps to get everyone going. That being said, Im not certain right now what SST adjustability I have within the maps! Ill do some research.

I think the Cobb AP is a great thing to have period. Every tune you get can be saved into your AP. On top of that you can call cobb or go to their site and download maps for any future mods you plan to get as long as they have it. It'll save you tons of money. Just being able to reflash without having a laptop around all day is quite convenient too.

but the only only future mod cobb supports for us is a TBE with different octanes ....

big friggin deal, i'm an AP user and i actually just wrote cobb's marketing/PR person a "nice" letter. i'm a little miffed that they put all their time into development of the evo's maps and don't do anything with the RA... while our market is a bit smaller theres certainly sill alot of RA's out there

we're onto the 3rd model year and all we have is an exhaust calibration with different octanes, while the X's map list will make your head spin with just about every bolt on being cover including intakes,e-85,injectors etc

i mean for $500 i was kinda hoping for more so i'm debating ditching it and going with the ecuflash platform, and honestly i think its the smart thing to do untill cobb ponys up more maps for the RA

again to the OP if you haven't gotten the AP yet save your money get a tactrix cable, ecuflash, and a boost pill along with razorlabs base map flash... giving you have a lap top this is a better interm solution for minor bolts ons.. and you'll save about $300

EXACTLY!!

I was about to pull the trigger on the AP, but did research, came to the same conclusion.
Going to contact RRE and get a custom tune, with some goodies installed at the same time.

i've used ecomode, didn't notice much difference in milage

i wish i had done more research but i had the mod bug so i got the AP, and its is useless untill it has a full map library, because really your going to get 2 tunes done before your done with bolt ons

1 being a free basemap that only costs you the cost of parts and software required roughly 2 bills right,

then if you patiently wait and buy/install your TBE, FMIC &pipes as well as your intake and get it tuned at the same time you've saved money and your actually spending less money then any cobb user

but to each their own

agree completely. I never understood the appeal of Cobb AP, especially on RAs

and I think the idea of plugging in a laptop to a car is way cooler than that goofy looking AP (sorry I just wish it looked sleeker than a plastic dollar store calculator)

don't get me wrong, Cobb is great company, just not sold on the AP, and definitely not on RAs

i was but now i'm not, what would be cool is if ecuflash made a smartphone app simple for flashing your maps... no tuning or logging just strictly for map flashes.... hmm looks like i have another email to write

I am just taking my car to English Racing, for less than the cost of an AP, I can get a DynoTune. Granted I will have to get a re-tune if I had more performance parts, but it is a lower price.

This way I know I am getting the exact right tune for my car.

I've used economy mode on a long long trip and noticed a difference, my average "18-20mpg" was "25-26mpg" constant. The sacrificed power for mileage is noticeable. I haven't tried the valet mode, however.

The ap does more than what people are looking for it to do. It seems people just want it to hold multiple maps for various and future tunes, which myself, wants too.

What sucks is the marketing for the ralliart. I see 10/1 ratio of evo's to ralliarts at most dealerships here in dallas, tx. What's even worse is when people see the vented hood and say "OMFG YOU GOT AN EVO X?!?!", in which you have to say "No, its a Ralliart" and then they proceed with the question "What's that?" Rather frustrating after the first 10 times
