Appt w/ RRE!!
Hey All,
So I'm droppoing off my baby tmw for some pro-time. Getting front and rear sway bars, rear camber bushing, and rear diff bushings installed, oh and fender roll for the rear camber. Then in the pm getting some dyno time!!!
So far I have a Cobb drop-in, cp-e Quick Power Pipe (hfc), boost pill, one piece-hard uicp, and IX BPV. Also, I'm trying to get ahold of DC to swing by in the am and have them look at my defective CBE before I go to RRE. Really want to dyno with full 3" from dp back
Wish me luck (both w/ DC responding today, and dyno tmw)!!!

Results are in!!!!
First off: WOW! I now drive a fighter jet crusing mere inches off the ground
The sway bars keep the car FIRMLY on the ground. The coilovers are awesome
, but I noticed that prior the car would bounce when I hit road imperfections (pot holes, tree roots, etc). As I understand this was due to the small hole for the oil (dampener) to squeeze through. Not any more, now she just absorbs them and stays firmly planted (do to the increased rigidity of the sway bar keeping both sides level), it's seriously a night and day difference.
I was warned the bushing would have a quite a bit of increased NVH, but it would decrease in a couple weeks once they "settle". Gotta say it had the opposite effect (hear me out...); I drove home last night with the radio off (as I often do; love to listen to her moan and scream
) and it was surprisingly quite. The rear camber has already improved, and I havent yet gone to get the alignment. Another HUGE plus I discovered was the rear diff bushing inserts. What I thought was the tranny moving during shifts, turns out it was the rear diff moving around. Next time you are under your car, take a look at the giant center bushing for the diff (directly behind the muffler). That thing is RIDICULOUSLY soft, and combined with the soft bushings between the diff and the subframe, accounted for quite a lot of "play" during shifts. Not Any More
And the grand finally, what every one wants to know, THE TUNE:
I have videos on my phone I will post either tonite or tmw (gotta upload them). Final results; 295 awtq, 255awhp
Stock is ~215awhp, GST base map was ~235, and once I get everything rectified with DC for their cbe s/b sitting at ~260-265!
Bryan's base map was already a huge improvement over stock, so below 3K rpm the tune didnt make that much of a difference. But from 3K up its a whole new machine
; boost was dialed in at 21 psi all the way across, dropping a mere 1 to end up at 20 by 7K. I was especially impressed with the lack of turbo lag in 6th gear on the freeway. This gear is supposed to be our "econo" gear, but the instant response is...impressive!
Videos to come shortly!!

PS: Much love and respect for Mike, Scott, Rob, and Sam over at RRE! Those guys are some of the nicest folks you could ever meet. I'm a very details oriented person, and like to tinker to find out "how things work"; it was very cool that they took the time to explain what all was going on, despite I'm sure having said it a gazillion times to countless others over the last 15+ years! And yes, after having bounced some ideas off of them, I'm already planning on how I want to continue my little "work in progress"

^^ lol yeah the bc coilovers are stiff and once you go for wider tires/lighter wheels the car bounces like a basketball even in a very small rock.... But yeah the handling is a champ i wish i have a bc coilovers too... A suspension upgrade is a MUST for the RA...nice set up bro.... Post some pics!

Very cool results, congratulations.
I think from reading your post we can all see evidence of a probable ear to ear $hit eating grin!
Sounds like you are very happy with the results, and certainly should be very proud. Enjoy!
