Unhappy Is something wrong with my 09 Ralliart??

I just traded in my 2008 F-150 for the 2009 Ralliart, so far I love this car, but thought I would save a little money on gas coming from a V8 to a 2.0 Turbo. I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question, I don't really too much about imports, but plan on learning a lot.

Now back to my question, I noticed that my Ralliart is guzzling down the gas quickly and I try to drive normal most of the time...is there something wrong with my car???

How much mpg are you getting? The tanks on the ralliart are small (14.5 Gal) compared to your F150 im assuming.

Well, the display says 22mpg average, but I haven't really checked, I will do so.
Yes, the F-150 has a 30 gallon tank......
Maybe it's just all in my head lol.

Also, someone told me that the Ralliart and the Evo are the same car, but the Ralliarts turbo is just tuned down and the Evos turbo is tuned up. Is this true??

Thanks for your answers!

not exactly.. the engine is the same but RA turbocharger is smaller.. our intercooler is also small.
other than power..
our 4wd system is different too... Evo has lighter and strong suspension components.. hence better handling...
Evo has brembo brakes

Yeah half the tank can really make a difference, also warming your car up before driving is better and letting off the gas improves mpg. I found that cruise control really makes mpg go up so i turn it on when im driving.

Yes the ralliart is 90% of the evo. The evo has a twin scroll turbo and the ralliart has a single scroll (picture below). Also i think the intercooler is bigger, suspension is better, etc. You can pretty much say the ralliart is the little brother of the evo, same blood different age lol

Ralliart turbo (left) Evo X turbo (right)

The turbo is the main engine difference. Evo uses td05 twin scroll verus our td04 single scroll. Theres other differences as well... evo has the super all wheel control(s-awc) and few other option. So close to the same car but ours is still the cy4a(lancer) more closey related to the lancer gts. As for gas mileage more than likely in your head. Just give some time and find certain sweet spots to obtain "better gas mileage" turbo all wheel wont always get the best.Always fun to drive. How do like the car?

Good to hear. I've had mine for alittle over two years now and nothing but a great car and got me through two horrible winters... In two years put 34000 miles on it.. to much joy riding considering I work 5 miles away ha.

I have seen up to 25mpg on the Highway with Cruise Control. I am getting about 200 miles between fill ups. I know what you mean, we have a Navigator and get almost 400mi range.

Of course it only costs about $35 for a fill-up, which I am sure is a little less than a fill-up in an F-150, so thats where you see the savings.

I went from a 2004 F-150 that got 21.7 mpg to my current OZ Rally, im glad im not the only one that traded my F-150 in. Only thing I miss is the 6.7 0-60's which might not sound fast to most of you but not im at mid 9's with my OZ. I miss mine horribly.

Yes I think its the tank size though, It was about 20$ to get me from E to a little less then have a tank and its only about 10 for the same in the Lancer.

GST reflash will make it a bit less gas consumer and add a few more hp.

there are a lot of factors in how much mpg you get. Evything to terrain you have to drive through to the most important; driving style. If you've "just" switched from the F150 to your RA, then you may be missing the gobs of torque from idle, and giving the RA more gas off the line to get going.

Also, as AWD 4 cylinder turbos go, Mitsu's aren't the best in class for fuel economy. However, much of that can be fixed with tuning.

Yes, I kind of miss the roomy F-150, but I have to say I enjoy the Ralliart.
Also, with F-150 I was paying about $75-$80 a week on gas.

Thanks!
