CBRD- 2011 RA project car
I wanted to take the time to post all of the information on our project Ralliart Sportback.
After having a 2008 EVO X since they first arrived in the states, and developing 2 nice stock location turbos (after testing 9-11 different combinations), manifold, FMIC, piping, tial turbo kit, radiator etc.... We let that car go at the end of last year...
Missing the EVO X and wanting an SST style gearbox (because I loved our R35 nissan GTR) I toyed with the idea of a 2010/2011 MR, but ultimately decided if it was going to share duty as my daily driver I needed more space and something a bit softer since I now have two kids
So in comes the 2011 Ralliart... when the car arrived the rom wasnt even defined yet so we did quite a bit of testing with bov's, intercoolers, test pipe, etc before we started tuning....
It has come quite a ways in 3 months or so, and only 1800 miles.
We are happy to now offer Ralliart SPECIFIC solutions for people... we didnt simply throw our evo X parts on it.
We have currently:
CBRD RA FMIC (garrett core)
CBRD IC pipes (both full 2.5" alum)
CBRD short ram bell mouth intake
CBRD RAD (Ralliart Designated) oem turbocharger
Also working on:
CBRD tubular open scroll Ralliart Manifold
Fixed strut damper solution with spec springs
Here is a dyno chart showing the turbo, pipes, intake, fmic, test pipe and a catback on the car-
not bad with 102whp gain up top
and only 23 psi!! More to come-

Here are some pics of the car and developed solutions...

Anyway-
just a little update-
more to come in the forthcoming months!
Sincerely
CB

great thread. keep it updated and i hope you will update your site with this stuff so i can order the complete kit. by the way, i read that you were developing a much stronger version of the ralliart turbo than the lite version you guys have. the question is, if i was to send it in, how long does it take to come back?

we have a titanium version (turbine wheel) but the cost associated dont make it very good bang for the buck in my opinion, and with the ealier spool, I think it will cause tuning headaches with the SST because it hits so hard early!
The Lite spools awesome makes great power, and is cost effective!
The website is being completely revamped with an entirely new webstore

CBRD, you guys are fantastic. I look forward to the new site and that:
CBRD tubular open scroll Ralliart Manifold!!
Also, what is the reason behind the strut damper solution? Have peopl ebeen having issues with this? I actually like the OEM suspension on the car. I also drive on really bad roads (Montreal...terrible roads due to harsh winter conditions).

AMS only offers a tray to store the small battery in the same location as the original (laid flat), so it doesn't completely open up space to fit an Evo X airbox like Bryan's AEM
There is a nice open space to mount it by the ECU as he mentioned though, just nobody has gotten around to making a bracket

AMS is like this on my RA:

I want a bracket by the ECU to fit the mini battery up right. Not only will that make room for an airbox it will also move the weight back from the front of the car.
there just seems to be too many performance limitations with the stock RA engine bay setup. The battery simply takes too much room in the engine bay. Any RA intake that sits behind the battery seems to provide little to no gains (mainly thinking of UR's SRI).
I am doing an Evo X turbo swap next week, and I was planning on selling my AMS SRI and using an OEM Evo X intake box for now since me and my tuner are having trouble solving CELs from our custom-tune, but then I remembered that there wouldn't be enough room for the box, so I'll have to keep adjusting the tune to fix these CELs.
I think an OEM Evo X intake box with a small battery mounted by the ECU would be a GREAT cost-efficient mod for RA owners (like we do with Evo X FMICs, IC piping, and bov's). The stock Evo X intake is a pretty efficient design and can be picked up for as little as $50 used, and it will give the flexibility of using any aftermarket Evo X intake if the owner decided to upgrade later - no more frustration with the limited aftermarket choices of the RA.
It's making 400hp+ with the OEM Evo 10 UICP and stock catback, so it still makes power.

You can read more about the car here if you haven't already: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/09...sportback.html
It might. I've been trying to keep it all OEM looking. Whenever I get the damn AEM airbox on it will look more OEM.
