What I learned over the years of buying, selling, and trading cars (keeping them for only a short period of time) is that it's not a good move. Best to look for the car that you absolutely want, buy it... and then keep it forever.
I've done this. Helped tons with building credit. Wanted to make my 09 GTS my last car for a long time until I realized how weak the CVT is in it "currently" when it comes to mods. RA SST has its limitations too but I'm ok with having a 12-13 second DD lol. Don't think the wife would be ok shuttling kids around in a 9 second track monster.

If you got rid of the RA due to debt, my advice would've been to trade for something a little more fun than the Elantra. Not knocking the car cuz I sold Hyundai's for a little while couple years back and really, the warranties are what help sell that brand but a base model Lancer would've cost roughly the same. At one point I went from a '92 turbo Civic, to a '95 turbo del Sol, to a '02 Mazda 626 and even though the 626 had a nice setup, I didn't feel right. Ended up trading the 626 back in almost 2 yrs later for my first Lancer, a 2006 (wtf with that design scheme Mitsubishi). That got traded for an '09 Lancer GTS, then traded that for my '11 RA.

You'll end up back in a turbo charged beast eventually and hell, those new AE86 remakes Toyota is playing with look kinda cool too.

I feel you man... I traded my ralliart for Kia sorento for maintenance costs and cargo room. I kept on wanting to do stuff to my ralliart so it had to go... Sad day for me indeed.

I was thinking about the new elantra too but the ride was so bad and felt so cheap compared to what others were saying.

Out of the blue test drove the sorento cuz my wife loved the look of it and we both loved the car so we took it.

My ralliart will be missed......

I'm in the same boat as you are. This upcoming weekend, I'll be getting my Ralliart out of storage and prepping it to put it up for sale. I'm trying to buy a house and I need to free up that $500+ a month in payment and extra insurance. I now have a 400 hp 1g and a 300 hp GVR4 to play around with in the meantime.

Anyone interested in a nicely modded 09 OB Ralliart?

If you get tired of your Ralliart just upgrade it. I have had mine for a year it now has the power of an EVO :-) Enjoy what you drive if you can upgrade it to your liking.....
