Okay,

So I have a 2009 Lancer Ralliart w/ 16K miles on it. I always park in a garage and the car sits outside MAX for 8 hrs a day.

Recently the AirBag frame shows threw my dash and it looks awful.. I am reaching out to see if anyone else has had this issue?




BTW: I talked to the Rep and they replaced the dash purely out of customer satisfaction but they claim the airbag showing in the dash meets specs and will not be replaced under warranty.

i see it, hmmm weird i will look at mine tomorrow to see if i can see it on mine

 

yeah. theres like an outline of it. i see it. thats weird. try putting on some armor all cleaner to get it a deeper black shine. maybe that would help

 

When it gets wet the markings stand out even worse. The entire dash will be replaced this Thursday.

 

I checked in a different 09 Lancer Ralliart and it did NOT have those markings.

 

I'm amazed how they told me every car has this issue.... Thank god it's being replaced under the understanding they can't guarantee it will not show up again...

I still have no idea what we're supposed to be seeing in these pictures. I see nothing but a normal dashboard and windshield.

 

look harder and you will see the outlines of the airbag

 

Gotcha, I was looking at the seams/cracks rather than the solid plastic part of the dashboard.

 

The top pic is a lot easier to see it, but once you see it you will never loose it. ;-)

The dealer estimated 3 full days to replace....
