Definitely interested in more data/timeslips because you should be capable of much better times with that car. Your trap speed, alone, is 3mph higher than my last 12.7 run, so rest assured that the car has much more hidden inside

Just for the hell of it, try making a pass in Auto. I know it's not as rewarding as doing it yourself, but you may be surprised at how well the SS-T actually does on its own.

Nice job, good to see you out enjoying your ride!

After watching and listening to the sound of the motor when you shifted, I'm just guessing that the advice OZ gave above might be spot on. I'm just thinking that in sport mode your SST tranny might yield slightly more efficient shifts.

Hey give it a try next time out and see, if it does not out, you can always go back to shifting manual!

the only thing is that when its in manual my redline is 7400rpms when its in auto it shifts at 6500rpms but i ll give it a shot got nothing to lose or i was thinking of doing 1 and 2 gear in auto so i dont bounce off the rev limiter then switch to manual for the rest of the run i ll try a few things and see whats best

IMHO 7,400 RPMS with stock cams could be beyond your peak HP, and if so, the car might actually be losing power at that RPM.

Without seeing your latest dynograph and just assuming your torque/HP curve is still similar (although of course higher peak numbers) to your base line dynograph tq/HP curve, I'm just guessing that it might seem that shifts in the 6200-6500 RPM range could be more optimal, and might be worth considering.

I wonder where most the others who are dragging their cars with stock cams and similar mods are shifting?

Agreed. Modified mag (at least I think it was Modified?) actually did a great write-up on how to coordinate shifts during racing based off dyno graph results, if you can locate it. I'll try to find it as well.

That being said, just based on general graphs I've seen from others with similar mods, I would think somewhere in the 6500-7k range would keep you within your optimal curve area moreso than the higher rpm shifting.

Ok, correction: it was in DSport magazine, issue #91.

Here's a link to the beginning of the article, but my computer at work won't let me go past page one, I don't know if it's the computer or the site that isn't giving me the option to view more of it: http://www.dsportmag.com/browse/tech/learning-curves

i will try shifting between 6500-7k but when i did it i was trying to shift at 7k but it takes a split second for the tranny to shift so it kept climbing to 7400 i just have to get better at shifting where it wants to shift right this is my first awd turbo car with so much power so im still trying to get use to it

This seems odd to me. If your rev limit was adjusted in sport mode it shouldn't matter if you are in auto or manual mode. I would check that again. Also, everyone that gets the fastest time uses the auto option.

even though the power starts falling off dont shift early i know this for a fact. i have ran my car down the track probably 300 times. all my best times were always shifting myself and always shifting right before my rev limit 7700.

now for hitting the rev limit going into second gear. what you need to do is try to let off about twenty percent throttle right before you shift it is pretty hard to do but i have now mastered it. with my fp green i cant keep it floored at the track when shifting from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd because it will get stuck on the rev limiter so i literally lift my foot ever so slightly and it will shift.

if RAZORLAB could chime in do you think i could adjust my tps in 1st and second to like 75% at like 300rpm before my rev limiter to help the sst make the shift and then i wouldnt have to lift my foot going down the track?
