AMS INTAKE or UR?

i know the UR intake is $150 with stock battery. the $359.95 AMS INTAKE requires the $199.95 AMS SMALL BATTERY KIT. i doubt that the AMS INTAKE really produces that much more power than the UR INTAKE for $409.90 more. i plan on tuning my 09 ralliart with the intake as well.

there is a huge difference between the two

UR is pretty much just for sound (and heat-soak)

the AMS is actually larger, requires a MAF rescaling, and flows much more than the UR intake. it's the exact same as the Evo X version, just a diff coupler to match the turbo inlet

<-- unhappily have the AMS SRI currently

I'm reserving my opinion on AMS until I give it more time on my new tune. The AMS requires the tuner to rescale the MAF, which I'm starting to see few tuners can do properly on 4b11t's. when done poorly (like my tune was), driveability and power-band gets worse.

it's definitely miles better than the UR intake though. I don't think you can have an adequate intake/airflow without a small battery (stock battery might as well be a brick wall in the engine bay); hence the bracket I'm making that's taking wayyyyyyyyyyy too long -____-

i dont have any problems with UR and i love their exhaust. but i have to say that i purchased their intake and automatically returned it. then went with the AMS intake not only because of the better flow and everything but im really big on looks too. UR just looked cheap in my opinion and AMS was leaps and bounds better!! i havent looked back since.
