boost pills??
I got an AMS pill instead of the GST one (due to ordering difficulties).
I'm not convinced they are the same. I started with the GST Base Maps with the AMS pill, and was hitting higher boost than I thought was appropriate.
So I retuned my BWGDC tables. In the mid-rpm area, my tables are now a good 10% lower than the original GST Base Map settings.
As to how much boost you can hold, mine can stay above 20psi until 5750rpm. That's about 95% WGDC (in winter).
Boost tapers to around 14psi at redline (around 7300rpm, as per GST Base Map setting).
To be honest, it's probably not the pill restrictor hole size that is important here - it's the t/c itself. There's not much to be gained by wringing its scrawny little neck, apart from loads of heat!
In retrospect, I reckon I would have had an easier "out-of-the-box" experience if I'd got the GST pill. However, tuning the boost control stuff was (is) a good learning experience, and pretty satisfying once I really got familiar with it.
Hope this helps.

I have been running the AMS pill with GST v2.5 for some time now (due to ordering problems as well). I hit 24-25 psi, taper down to about 22, and then it slowly drops to 14 psi as the RPM's increase. As others have stated, you will require a tune for any boost pill.

I am also now researching the major differences in pill manufacturers.
