Timing chain warranty not covered
I'm a little concerned about my timing chain because it's at .43 and the excepted tolerance according to Mitsubishi's tech's is .61 My RA is at 35k miles BTY. There was a stretched timing chain claim at my dealership that required 2 readings before the job was approved as well as an oil sample. My question for everyone is what the 2 required readings mean to Mitsubishi. They are looking to see if the car is flashed. The first one was the Cal. ID The second was the CVN. After the tech gets the CVN he is instructed to turn key on and off 3 times and recheck the CVN number. If it changes to a different number than it's good. If the number doesn't change than there is a problem and the clam is denied . Thoughts?
I have the exact same mods as you, so I am very interested in this. If you work at a Mitsubishi dealership can't you just ask the tech? Maybe chi-town will pipe in with some valid info and help us all understand the process better.
