Ultimate racing performance muffler vs. Catback

So I bought the ultimate racing performance muffler thinking it would be decently loud, and it not. Well not for my taste. So I was wondering that if I buy the unresonated midpipe will it make it any louder? I really don't want to get a test pipe I just want a catback. So think it would be good idea to buy the midpipe?

Thanks guys.

Was yours much louder? And I don't want to buy a test pipe. Too much of a pain to always swap when I go to the dealer. And I bought a extended warranty so...

Most dealers dont really care about a cat removal. It only allows for less back pressure which is better air flow. Hippies would care more because you aren't trying to stop emissions by removing your cat.

I noticed it purred alittle louder at idle because the sound was able to bounce inside the piping alittle more,

testpipe > midpipe

I just dont want to have to tune it so that's why I don't want a test pipe

No its a state law, Hence why California has stricter restrictions then most other states and North Dakota has no restrictions at all on emissions. And i got my car registered / inspected in Ny without a cat because it doesnt cause the CEL to go off :]

And yea, most dealers dont care, they only care if you cost them money, and they cant point any problem to a cat removale ..... Regardless of any rules

And a testpipe does not require a re-tune

I brought my car into the dealer after i had my evo x swap doen to get my ACD pump replaced because it went in the cold weather. One of the sales man came up to me and asked me how i liked the X swap because he noticed it and said he was thinging about doing it to his car. After my car was done a day later i took him for a spin!

I dont see where it states that all vehicles must have a cat and in all states... It just says that those cats on that website follow the laws that most states who do require them. And such, North Dakota doesnt. In addition, the purpose of a cat is to filter the emmissions, in which if you CEL doesnt go off when the cat is removed your still abiding by the approapiate emission standards

i know this shows me as being argumentative and im not, BUT ive been a technician for a long time now and im telling you, federal means ALL STATES. look at rule 4 and read the last line. this applies to all cars in all states after 1996. in ny, you still have to have a cat to pass the visual. i know because i live here. i have also lived in ca and az where emissions are strict as well. we all do it, im just saying that i find it hard to believe that the dealer doesnt have a problem with a federally required part being removed.

Yet again IT IS NOT FEDERALLAY REQUIRED.... It is required to sell the car, but emissions vary juristiction to juristicion. And why would a dealer care? Do they check your insurance and registration everytime you bring in a car because i know those are required also... So isnt a drivers licence but they dont check for those either :]
