Let's talk about mpg

First, sorry if I write something wrong, i'm not good with engl...

I read a lot here and I see how bad is the ralliart and evo in mpg and I see over the internet and magazines other cars with much more hp, bigger engine and have better mpg. I know that everybody gone say"tune", my cars is already tune, "stay out of boost" I do people and other things but thats not my point to write here.

What is wrong here, engine design???? Is just a question I have in my mind for a lot of time

A few examples:

Hyundai sonata turbo
2.0Lturbo 274hp 28mpg

Porche panamera turbo
4.8L twin turbo v8 23mpg

Ford edge ecoboost turbo
2.0L turbo 247hp 30mpg

Ford mustang N/A
v6 305hp 30mpg

Subaru wrx turbo
265hp 25mpg

and a lot of cars, you can search over the internet. So the point is, what wrong with

They were 8's and 9's. I just noticed you were speaking of the x's and ralliart. Best I could get hwy out of my x was 25 and that was driving like a Nancy.

What do you mean what's wrong? We get the same MPG as the Subaru WRX, and better than the Porsche Panamera Turbo...

The only one in that list that is comparable to the RA/EvoX in MPGs is the Subaru because both platforms are 4cylinder turbo w/ AWD.

The Ford Edge has better MPGs w/ its 2.0L turbo and AWD system because the engine is "Direct Injection" which allows even tighter control over fuel usage. Also, even though makes "240 HP and 270ft-lb torque" it doesn't really speak to how they've tuned the turbo from the factory...

Just put that cars for example, but the porshe panamera is just a few mpg away and have a v8 twin turbo 500hp, not a 4 with just 237hp

Audi S4 V6 Stronic Quattro AWD - 333hp/325ftlbs, FOUR THOUSAND POUNDS, 28mpg.

Will probably end up being my next car after I've squeezed 120-140k miles out of the RA, even though I love my RA to death.

Because, AWD, 333hp, four thousand pounds 28mpg.

I am very concerned with the fuel economy as well. The turbo and AWD system are the culprits of sucking up the fuel of course. That and the tune finishes it off from the factory.

This begs the question, can a tuner adjust the RA to get better MPG? Is there a device where we can flip a switch and go from gas sipper to gas sipper?

Maybe. This depends on a number of factors. Probably yes, but you won't know until you ask.
