Snow with stocker tires
So it's snowed here. Very little, not even an inch and I must say on stock tires this car slides all over and does not stop well. And not I was not going fast at all. Infact people were passing me! Doesn't seem like any of the mods( snow.ect) do not help this problem. It's fun with no cars around but my wife will crap herself if she takes it to work alone.
Winter tires are best if you live someplace that gets a lot of snow. A set of all seasons such as these are a good compromise. The Ralliart comes with Summer-Only tires so even in light snow you're not going to have much control. There are quite a few threads about this already. Either get another set of wheels with winter tires and deal with the TPMS problem or get some compromise tires that can handle winter. Or buy a winter beater!
Thank you for telling me that I'm stupid for trying to drive the car in snow. Was not really looking to get flamed for stating that. My crown Vic I drive at work is not bad in snow even with bald tires. Tho if you will note I was concerned about my wife not myself. I don't mind doing donutes all the way home but with my wife being prego and very sensitive I didn't want her to get stressed out while driving the car. Guess I'll be replacing my tires.
Ps it was more of a question of does the modes really make a difference. They didn't seem to change anything for me. In squad parking I took about a half hour messing with them and trying to see if one gave me better control in the very light snow and I didn't seem to see a change. It still was very a$$ happy and didn't turn well. Good for 360s and making the tc light to just stay on.

The modes are not going to make a difference at all. The tires are just that bad in the snow. Get a spare set of rims and snow tires. Then you will be able to pretty much go through anything.

Ok thank you. Ill get new tires. But then if the modes don't really change anything then whats there true meaning. They Do not change bias. Also just for giggles would taking the tc off make a difference or would I be in a world of hurt more so then now
i love my set of snows...all seasons just doesn't do the trick when there is 3+ inches of snow on the ground. then again 18" snows aren't cheap...nor is a second set of rims for my summer tires.
the previous owner of my RA has a set of 16's with snow tires he's selling. he lives in Wisconsin. if you're interested PM me and i'll give you his number

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd ask this here. I have top end winter tires and the car runs fine at 0-90 km, but at 90-120 I am getting some pretty bad vibrations. I realize winters are not meant for high speed, but it's not like I'm doing 160. Allignment issue? If it was allignment, I would think that i would feel it at lower speeds too? meh I dunno.
