What is with vendors overcharging for such simple stuff lately? Cam shields for $40. spark plug covers for $120. and now underpanels for $375.

the price by far is very reasonable! aluminum is not cheap and neither is the maching that can water jet these things out. i think $350 is a great deal.

Kepp up the great work SSP

I agree that the price is fair, I'm surprised other vendors haven't tried to make their own under panels, I'm sure once there's enough interest the smaller companies will make cheaper version. Whether or not the quality will be as good - we will have to see.

People are actually complaining about the price? Jesus.

Billet aluminum, water-jet cut to perfect size, WITH jack points and drop panel for oil changes, AND powder-coated? If you can't afford, I'm sorry for you. I can't afford it either. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna ***** at Jason and SSP that their price is unfair.

It's not like they just took a piece of sheet metal, threw it under the car, and cut it up. I haven't seen one thing come out of SSP that wasn't incredible quality. AND this thing has a warranty. Grow up fellas.

Well I feel like an idiot. I missed the part about 6061 billet aluminum. My bad. That is indeed some high grade stuff, and worth the extra dough. Not sure that it's needed for what most do with their cars, but that's a different topic altogether.

Anyway, sorry for missing that key detail.

And Chaz, unable to afford it? really? We're going there?

No problem, just wanted to clarify that we try to make our products as affordable as possible, with the highest quality items.

We used aluminum to save weight. The OEM plastic one weighs very little, probably around 8-10lbs. at most. So instead of using steel, we tried to find something with an equal or better tensile strength while not really adding any weight.

You're putting words in my mouth Chaz. Look again at what I wrote, I said I felt the product was a bit "overpriced" based on how much I would want to spend on an item that's more cosmetic than anything else(yes, you could also make the case that it's more protective if your car is lowered or if you'll be taking the car off-roading, neither of which applies to me). Bottom line is if it was a performance mod that added 25+ hp/tq, then I wouldn't be nearly as price conscious. But to each his own, and I'm entitled to my opinion so this has nothing to do with needing to "grow up" as you put it......

Jasoob, yes, I have noticed SSP makes premium parts, and as a result has to charge premium prices. I think this is a good product at a good price for those that need this level of an underpanel. I also think the majority of people who don't offroad or REALLY race would be fine with one that weighs a bit more, maybe has fewer features, and cuts costs down as a result.

Maybe a "budget" line would make sense, seeing as you already have the CAD stuff done for the waterjet, perhaps offer a cheaper one made out of cheaper aluminum or steel for those that don't necessarily have to have "THE BEST".

I like this suggestion too. Since I never race or offroad my car. Something better than the plastic oem under panel.

You guys definitely don't live in Canada lol. The snow/ice that we get every year is more than enough of a reason to get the underpanel. My OEM plastic one is destroyed just from daily driving here.

I agree with you guys, if you don't race, aren't lowered and have nice, smooth roads with good weather conditions, there's no point. But all of us northern states/Canada/lowered/racing really benefit from this.

I'm down for this as is and I live in California. However I do wish it was just a bit on the cheaper side. Wonder if I could almost make this out of some sheet metal...

Actually, it's made from Billet Aluminum........not sheet metal. I suggest maybe reading the entire add next time before you post up bashing a vendors product.

But hey, everyone needs a shop GTR or evo or both, and they have to pay the track fees for racing them, and they have to have extra money to cover any sponsorships they decide to hand out....

I'd rather support a small shop that doesn't have the overhead of paying for their race cars, sponsorships, etc and instead sacrifices those things to offer a competitive pricing point that's just my opinion though. And seeing as your not a vendor on these forums I'm allowed to post in in tour threads.

50% markup.....Rofl.....good one bud....good one.

SSP is Kris, Myself, and two other part time employees....not sure how much smaller we can get lol.

For your information the GT-R and Evo are MY personal cars....NOT SSP's.
