No from license plate ticket question

So on Monday I parked my RA at school, get out of class and there is a $140 ticket for no front plate. Now I don't have another car and I'm not drilling holes in my bumper overnight. So the next day I get another $140 ticket by the same cop. Do I have to pay both of these tickets? Is there anyway out?

It should be a fix it ticket and you should be able to go there and tell them you have the plate on there. And you can zip tie the plate on the front grill but it's going to block the flow to the intercooler. You can take it to the dealer and ask them to install the plate like the evo. But just letting you know it's not hard to put it on yourself.

you could zip tie the plate to the bumper infront of the FMIC. Temporarily in place, no holes drilled, etc.

As far as paying the fine(s), probably best to check local law...

^ agree. You will probably have to go to court and show the judge. Tell him when you got thte first ticket you were trying to figure out how to do it but did not have time yet. They will probably just have you pay one.

^^Reguardless, its illegal. You wanna talk about being pulled over for stupid **** talk to me. I was pulled over for no seat belt when I was still wearing it when he walked up to my car then told me my license plate frame is illegal. Just depends on the day and cop. My wife drove for almost a year with no front plate and never got messed with on her Outlander Sport. We now thankfully live in a state that doesnt require them so no holes in the front of either of our cars!!

Maybe im just lucky, but I work with Dallas police almost every night. And they all have told me that having no front plate is the last thing they are going to care about. They wont waste their time pulling a car over that has no plate. Unless they pull you over for something else then add that on to the violations. Same goes for a test pipe. Most dont give a crap in my area. But then again, i guess it really depends on how that cop is feeling that day.

For the overnight solution until you have time to work out something better, I'd probably go with the zip-ties.

My cousin that drives around with her plate in the window on the dash. I don't know how "acceptable" that is, but I know she's had it like that for a while. I definitely wouldn't suggest it as any long-term solution though.

The link Fuego posted looks pretty interesting. If I didn't already have the side mount drilled in, I might consider that. Now I guess I'll just have to continue living in states that require front plates.

Actually if your car didn't come with a front license plate holder like mine you can go to the dealership and get a paper saying that the car didn't come with one from factory

Yes and then the cop that pulled you over will laugh in your face. If your going to go to the dealership to get a stupid piece of paper you may as well just get the friggin front plate installed instead. Trust me as Ive said before Ive been pulled over for some dumb **** but if the plate is required and you dont want another ticket, just get the plate put on.

What's this obsession with no front plate, yah they don't look that great but it beats the cops on your *** for something so trivial.$140.00 bucks wasted that could have been used for gas or mods.Hope you learn your lesson.

I got the same kind of ticket parked on the street at night in front of my own home. So the cop was just looking for revenue, but my ticket was only $40. I just paid it because wasting the time to buy an evo front mount ($40 and taking the time off work to fight it in court$$) was going to be more then paying the ticket. Since yours is so high, your better off purchasing an oem evo side mount and using the 3m sick on method in the lancer forums, then fighing it in court showing its mounted. I know in Seattle zip ties will not count as it's not a "peminant solution" per there law.

My Lovely Bride was pulled over for not having the front mount license plate. - so she showed him the Evo side mount and he still gave her a ticket for 'attempting to evade the law' (statuate agianst people who like using a photo-blocker cover)...

The side mount puts the plate directly under the driver when the auto-pix is taken for redlight runners and the speed camaras focus on the rear plate.

THAT is messed up!

i had to explain to the cop why our cars only come with side mounts because it blocks the intercooler. he tried to say the same thing as u asking why its off to the side to hide when it actually comes like that.
