Cracked fog light due to stupid rock

Take a look at this damage:

Cracked fog light due to stupid rock-j8nakyx.jpg

I'm thinking about following this DIY guide here (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/09...ht-lenses.html) to replace my fog lights.

Are there any other cheap alternatives out there?

Also, I'm looking to replace both bulbs but I'm unsure what is considered a decent brand. Something that is brighter than stock would be nice. (This will actually be my first mod )

Any help and suggestions from you guys would definitely be appreciated.

For bulbs, I went Philips Crystal Vision 4300K. If you do get these get the matching headlights and high beams too =D Then you will have a nice crisp white lights =] (UNLESS YOU HAVE HID's)

^Awesome very nice. The link to the glass you posted is 1/8th thickness. The guy who put together the DIY used a 1/4th thickness.

I suppose using either wouldn't matter then.

A little thicker would be better because the glass is flat the oem is round a little so there will be a little gap if you can see it in 2nd pic i posted

Would you mind sharing a link to these? In particular, the matching headlights and high beams?

They are hard to find anywhere but on ebay and they are not particularly cheap.

BUT have a look at these: (You may be able to find a cheaper supplier)

and

Also have a look at some CREE LED parker and number plate lights. A nice white overall look will do you some good. =]

Thanks for the link.

I'm seeing the cree LEDs on amazon going for 45-50s and there a couple that are selling for $15 (such as this one :
Amazon.com: LED Cree Fog Lamp Bulb H11 Base 11W 9-32V Natural White 6000K: Home Improvement Amazon.com: LED Cree Fog Lamp Bulb H11 Base 11W 9-32V Natural White 6000K: Home Improvement
)

Obviously my wallet says buy the cheaper one but I'm unsure about its authenticity. What are your thoughts?

Hmmmb... I have the same style of bulb for my reverse lights, but mine are CREE 16W. The light output is heaps better than the stock reverse light, but I don't know how good they will be as foggies, especially the lower power rated ones.

Also going to LED causes problems with the computer, where it thinks there is a fault with the lights when they are not drawing much current. Then you have to add resistors and its just a waste of power and effort.

Can anyone with LED frog lamps share their experience? =D

I've done both of mine (go with a 3 1/2 by 1/4 lens). I just did my second one yesterday and cut my finger for a couple stitches haha. Make sure you use high temp silicone when making your gasket. I upgraded to sylvania high performance bulbs (whiter), but not much difference in terms of output...disappointed.
