AC rubber hose replacement help

AC rubber hose replacement help

Hey guys, Has anyone replaced their AC line? I mean the rubber portion of it? I called the dealership and they want $800 for the job!! Is there anyway to do this myself and how to remove the hose? Thanks for any help...

Why are they charging you if it's clearly a design flaw? That makes no sense to me.

Call your local Ac shops , most of them repair ac lines/hoses for about $40 !

1. Is the hose leaking? If not, I would band it (put metal sleeve over it and clamp it).

2. That is a large gap for the belt to move to the hose - are your engine mounts bad - moving the engine too far?

3. I would just buy a salvage yard hose and have any garage evacuate, oil charge, and charge the a/c system...

Yeah its leaking terribly so I need to replace it. The belt ate into it and all the 134 leaked out. I actually bent the hose back away from the belt. It must have moved when I hit a deer. I figured out I can buy the hose replacement online with both metal ferrules attached for only about $15. Only thing I would need to do is crimp and evacuate the system. Dealership wanted $800!! Thanks guys
