right now Im looking at the TurboXS 3" Catback Exhaust, Ultimate Racing 3" Dual Exit Catback Exhaust, the cp-e 304 SS Cat Back Exhaust, and the Buschur Racing system. Out of these what would you guys recommend?

Modding

I was completely new to tuning and was hesitant since my car was under warranty.

I drive a 2011 as well. Within the past week, I bought a tactrix cable and flashed the base map on. I just ordered my boost pill for the boost pill option. I run an Evo x BOV. I also flashed S-sport on my car...

My car is a new car. It runs better than it did. When I'm not putting my foot in it, I'm getting better gas mileage. My car just feels better.

My first advice would be to get a tactrix table and learn how to do the flash. It will really open things up for you and doesn't cost what a tune does.

which BOV are you guys running? Im looking at the Cobb Tuning XLE BPV Bypass Valve, Go Fast Bits Deceptor- which is cool cause you can control it from inside the car(but seems like **** can break easier) or the HKS SSQ Version 4 BOV.

Evo X oem and Synapse are the two best. Id only suggest one of those. As far as exhaust Id go with CP-E or UR.

Just get an OEM Evo X BPV. There's no need for an aftermarket BPV that are rated for like 100+ psi...it's just a marketing thing. Also, there is no need for you to be constantly adjusting the recirculation while driving, that sounds like a terrible idea lol. If you want noise, get a turbo smart BOV.

In terms of exhausts, I'm assuming you've already taken a look at a few on youtube. Again, if you want noise, go for something like an Ultimate Racing exhaust or CP-E. I went with the ultimate racing one and it's nice sounding. Muffler will mostly give you drone, but it sounds amazing compared to any other muffler and the catback will give you the medium tone to make it "purr".

Only get the Turbo XS if you want your car to be quiet because this exhaust barely produces an exhaust note.

good info thanks for letting me know. I think im going to end up getting the CP-E, unless i change my mind and get the UR. now with the CP-E, its a cat back exhaust, and if I wanted it to be turbo back then I would have to upgrade my downpipe and get the less restrictive cat pipe as well is that correct? or are those two parts the same thing?

Yes, the Downpipe is one piece and the High-Flow Cat or Test pipe is another.

The catalytic converter's flow is determined by something called a cell. The higher the cell, the more restrictive it is. I believe the stock is around 300 cell...In other words, the lower the number, the better.

A test pipe on the other hand is pretty much a "straight pipe". Literally there is no catalytic converter; it's just a straight pipe from the catback to the downpipe.

However, your HFC (Hi-flow cat) or test pipe can have a resonator. This reduces the noise of the exhaust.

Also, you can use Evo x test pipes or HFC with a ralliart. This is good because there are definitely more parts out there for the Evo X. If you're on a budget, the Depo Racing HFC is about 190 or you can get the test pipe for 110.

good advice. ill definitely look into a oem BOV. as far as your UR exhaust, how does it sound when you are at an idle. from what i have heard on youtube both exhaust at idle seem quiet. this could just be since everyone uses their phones to record audio and not an external mic. id like my car to even be loud when im at idle. i know its probably stupid that im trying to get my lancer so loud, but coming from v8 trucks...its hard not to want something loud. not quite sure how loud i can get my 2.0L 4 cyl. drone is no issue for me as well if that matters with any of your guys recommendations.

what if a high flow cat? is it required a tune?

from what I have learned/read the past couple days..no i dont believe you will need a tune with a high flow cat, but with the upgrading your exhaust it will be running pretty rich since the RA runs rich already is what i have read. so eventually it will be a good idea to get a tune down the road.

i will probably be getting a TBE then doing the evo x BOV and then boost pill then a tune right after that.

my question to everyone else though is should i get the resonator and mini muffler for my RA or just go with the HFC. drone and loudness is not an issue to me and cops are least of my worries. ive read that everyone who goes without the resonator and mini muffler think its too loud and the drone is horrible and eventually add them on later. what are your guys thoughts?

I have the map downpipe w 02 dump and Turboxs catless catback. Its not to ridiculous on the highway and when you want it to be loud, you have the dump tube. Plus running 02 dump has many benefits.

thanks for commenting dude, ive actually seen your youtube video multiple times. its the reason i am on the line with theses 2 systems. im not sure which to go with. cp-e or the ur system. for now i probably will just be going with the catback because today i talked with a tuning company and they said not to get the downpipe because i should get a tune after that, and i dont have the cash for a tune. but then again other people here on the site have said i can go turbo back and not require a tune. im trying to get super loud with a nice sounds as well. i just dig the sound of the raw engine for some reason. even with my motorcycle which is an r6, i pretty much run it just headers and a short pipe after that and its loud as ****...like i said i love the raw sound. if you have any thoughts on both systems i would love to hear them. i cant decide which to go with, i have heard god things about both systems, and i image they are pretty much gonna sound the same as well. although i just found out that cp-e has a catback system that has no mufflers at all. its the offroad version. to me that sounds pretty sweet lol. i probably wont get a growl from it but eh no biggy. any info will help. thanks again for posting.

You should get a tune with most mods. However, you can get away with a catback.
