I've been told, as I'm sure most of the rest of us have, nice Evo about 15 times since I bought my 2009 TB Ralliart about a year ago. The first 13 of those 15 times I've, either automatically, or out of a sense of wanting to just talk cars, tried to explain. "Oh, it's not an Evo, it's a Ralliart. You know how Subaru has the wrx and then the sti? Well it's kinda like that. It's the same engine as the Evo X but with a smaller single scroll turbo and the AWD system off the evo IX but with out yaw control........." Then the enevatible glassy eyes and blank stares start.

Well maybe they started 5min before that point but that's about the time I notice them lol. So I've just simply started saying thanks and going on with my day.

So the next time you get a "nice Evo" just smile and say thanks. It'll save you the aggravation of trying to explain the differences and the complimenter the the awkward nodding. Just my $0.02
