Question about HID's

So I bought an 2011 SportBack Ralliart which I get to pick up on monday(it's been the longest week of my life). And I was hoping you guys could help me out with HID's, now I feel fairly confident installing them myself but my as a car noob my question is are HID kits universal? Or do I want to look for one made specifically for my car? I'm in southern Ontario right now, other Canadians who have experience with this, where did you buy/order them from and were you hit with border fees if it was the US?

Looking to get my low beams, parking lamps, and fog lights all replaced ASAP.

If you are looking to do HID's I recommend doing a full HID retrofit. there are plenty of kits out there.

To answer your questions.
Yes HID kits are universal.
You are going to want to find your bulb size however.
get a quality kit. OEM is best but if you dont get OEM I would recommend Morimoto's from TRFS

To answer your possible future question.
you can find said kits here. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/
they offer HID's and projector kits
I recommend you get a morimoto kit with a mini H1 / D2S projector kit
said kit gives you HID's plus bulbs with projectors.
This kit can cost anywhere from 285 - 315 depending on options.
also this kit does require opening the headlight.

if you are still curious I recommend you going to
http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/
they will help you to a much greater extent.

I'm in Huntsville Ontario and if u were to come up the shop I work at we sell kits and install them if it helps? Full retrofit is by far the best way for sure because a projector lens is the right way to go with HID's but it is more money for sure but its worth it!
