i hate the factory nav unit and its lack of functionality, can I just take it out and replace with aftermarket unit? Most of them say not compatible with Rockford fosgate so I'm wondering what else I will need to do

 

You'll need to get the Metra Mito-02 to work with the RF system. I have the RF system and an aftermarket stereo. It's a piece of junk, but it's the only option. I'm on my second one, first one just stopped working one day, at least they replaced it for free. Since you have the nav I'm not sure if you need a new dash piece or not, if you do go with Soche. Best bet is to look at Crutchfield. They will provide everything you need.

 

And get the PAC-SWI to keep the steering wheel button functionality

 

You should also be able to sell your OEM Nav unit pretty easily to offset your costs.

 

I decided to skip the PAC-SWI. Didn't really use the steering wheel controls that much anyway.
+1 on selling the OEM unit. I was looking for one for awhile but decided to stay with aftermarket.
