This is the first time I encountered a problem. Started car like usual and radio was playing. I looked at the screen and display was blank. I tried to change the mode but it wouldn't change. After a few minutes of driving the display appeared again. Any idea what causes this? Everything else is working fine, my dash cam that runs off the cigarette lighter adapter kept recording like usual.

 

Radio may be getting ready to fail...

 

Sounds like it. Mine is acting weird as well at times, if I hit the volume up on steering wheel the volume goes down and on occasion the voice command thing pops on. I do think I had the screen go black once, I just turned car off and back on then it was normal. I'll replace mine when it does go out completely, then I can just buy a decent head unit afterwards.

 

Does the volume of your radio go down when a passenger leaves the vehicle? I thought it was something built into the radio but now I'm not sure. I always have to crank it back up after my daughter gets dropped off to school.

 

To be honest don't know, I really don't usually have anyone riding with me. The only time sound goes louder is when listening to the radio and that's probably due to signal strength? Though, yesterday after posting first response the radio decided it was going to act screwy again. I tried advancing the CD to next track, but it decided it was going to go backwards in order. I advanced it using the head unit, then I'm assuming that cleared out the glitch with the steering wheel controls, as it started working again?
I like to eventually get a new stereo, but right now I may be jobless soon.

 

Another thing that happens with mine is sometimes the car says key not detected but I have the remote in my pocket and it has new batteries. Only happens sometimes. Also, sometimes when I push the button on the door it's supposed to detect the key and open but sometimes it doesn't.
