flip out screen after radio relocation?

i really want to have 3 -60 mm gauges where the radio is now, and have a kenwood flip out nav unit from another vehicle i wanna install in the lower cubby. has anyone done this successfully? and is the screen still visible?

it seems possible if the headunit was located really far forward.

any input?

I have a feeling the lower cubby doesn't extend out enough to allow the screen to flip straight up.

Mine doesnt flip straight up, its a bit slanted outwards. You can use some custom brackets to mount the HU outwards more for more clearance.

yea thats what im thinking... use some brackets to slide it forward a bit, and fiberglass a custom bezel.

I've done it. Looks great IMO. I'll post pictures when I get the chance. Yes, the screen is fully visible. You just have to let the HU stick out slightly.
