Looking for advice on buying a 2009 Lancer ralliart
G'day guys, I've read extensively over the last month about the TC-SSTs and how often they need to be serviced etc. I'm looking at buying a 2009 Lancer Ralliart with 82000kms on it, its first SST service was at 74000kms which is kinda worrying to me. His description reads " 2009 Ralliart Lancer full turbo awd sunroof upgraded exhaust, evo x intercooler and pipe work, BOV, dyno tuned at 180awkw, 82ks, 18” rota grids". I'm also from Adelaide, South Australia.
I have a few questions if you guys could help me out.

- By booking a pre purchase inspection with a teach in, can you find most or all of the problems the transmission could be having? (Im thinking of taking it to a place that specialise in performance vehicles Evos/WRZs etc)
- What are the most common problems with the SST? (I think its the shift forks?)
- How long would a rebuilt SST last for normal driving? (would it be basically brand new?)
Just get it, worst case keep 3k aside for a new box.
Search in here for the common issues, but it seems to be a case of blind luck at times. People put some outrageous power through them but driving style and how it’s treated will ultimately determine how long it lives, just like a normal clutch.
Get s-sport flashed onto it, out a decent turbo on it, enjoy. The stock huffer with “sport” mode alone is enough to overwhelm the box down low, I’m now running a bolt on TD06 with double the factory output and s-sport default and it’s an infinitely better drive, for about a 2k outlay total.
