Mitsubishi lancer Ralliart I believe. My timing chain is stretched
I have been working and building this car from literally nothing for 10 years. When I was about to install my bc racing coilovers my timing chain went and I’m afraid to start it again because I don’t want internal damages. So I still have my bc racing coilovers
did the chain break or do you think its stretched? Either way, I'd probably do a leak down test as that will tell you if you have any internal damage. If it tests fine, I would replace the chain and rotate it by hand to make sure nothing binds up. Otherwise its a pull the head and check it out situation.
Signs of stretched timing Chain
Only why it has hard knocking clicking noise like instead the head metal hitting eachother , got lost power and struggling stay on when turning on. Me and my mechanic were working on it and when we finally came together the next day to try to turn on and make sure what we thought is what we thought and when we did it sounded so bad like metal was smacking and breaking apart inside. So right now I’m just trying to sell my car get a bigger car then by an Evo later
