ralliart 2009.........

........did you measure how much of a drop you actually got ?

it looks like more than the 1.2 inches that eibach states on their site.

RA sportback pro kit has a stiffer spring in the rear
the car is a bit heavier then the RA

RA pro kit part#6050.140
RA Sportback Pro kit Part#6052.140

they dont supercede each other untill other ways stated by Eibach
I spoke to Eibach yesterday and AJUSA today. 6052.140 is superceded to 6050.140 as of last week. So, 6052.140 IS a valid part number, but they will send you 6050.140 as was suggested earlier by another poster.

On a different note, I am looking forward to these because the drop is not as aggressive as the others I have seen and they include the dust boots/bump stops. I think that shows attention to detail which I like. They also lower an equal amount front and rear so the front will keep the slightly higher height difference. For driveways and such, thats important to me.

Will post pics of my install as well when the springs arrive.

This seems like a pretty civilized board from what I have seen. Thanks for the help everyone.

This was my point. It seems like they took the time to get everything right and provide all the parts that will be necessary for a proper install. Just gives me a bit more confidence in their product.

Im also very interested to hear about your experience with the pro-kit because didnt you have the rrm springs and get that rubbing/squeaking noise from the bump stops before? Im interested to see how the eibachs compare for someone who has owned both.

You are correct. I am the one who discovered where the noise was coming from, although a few folks in that thread seemed not to believe me....

I plan on selling my RRM springs here once the Eibachs are on. I may have a tough time after what I am about to say.

My opinion is that the RRM springs are too low in the front and too soft in the rear. The car feels like its on a pogo stick sometimes while driving. When we initially installed the springs, the bump stops were COMPRESSED between the top of the strut and the top hat. What this means is you have NO TRAVEL at static ride height. So when you turn the steering wheel, the noise you are hearing is the rubber squeaking as it tries to turn in that compressed state. We trimmed some of the bump stop out, and the problem went away. The rear spring rate seems to be too soft because when I go over a speed bump at low speed, the car just bounces off the bump stops. Its like there is no spring at all.

What worried me is when we called RRM and asked if they suggested cutting the bump stops. They said they never had to do that and actually questioned if we put the springs in correctly??!! I lost confidence in the springs right then and there. They may very well be a great company, but for the springs, I havent been happy.

After looking at the pics in this thread of the Eibach kit, they have shortened bump stops and a higher static ride height, so I think the ride/handling of these will be better. Plus they include new dust boots which is important. I guess we will see what happens. Anyone want to buy some lightly used springs?

I'm curious to know what your opinion will be after you get the Eibach kit on. Please report back as I was thinking this could be my next mod.

Guys, I have decided to go back to the stock springs. Since this is my work car, I realized I shouldn't be doing ANYTHING to it that might cause me issues. Its part of how I make a living.

So....

If you are interested in a BRAND NEW set of Eibach springs, never installed, still in the box, please PM me. I also have the RRM springs available. PM me about those as well.

Thanks and sorry I wont be able to give feedback on this.
