Cheap Tire Choice

need all-season cheapies for now...your thoughts/preference from the below models, listed in order from cheapest to priciest (although by a narrow margin all-around)...i'm in PA and the car is a purely basic DD for me, so my priorities are treadwear and all-season grip. and, no, the speech about neutering a performance-oriented machine with all-seasons is not necessary...again.

thanks, guys.

The Ventus V12 is definately not an all season. Tire Rack lists them as a max performance summer tire. They are a very reasonable price though.

Get the goodyear eagle gt tires. I have them and they are awesome tires. They are only about 15 or 20 bucks a tire more than what your looking at, but well worth it in my opinion.

thanks, all.
my mistake on the ventus, def not all season.
leaning toward the eagle, but a question first:
anyone running 225? no issues/worries with adding the 10mm?
stealership and tire shop look at me like im insane when i mention the notion of NOT running factory spec tires on a factory spec wheel...thoughts?

225 will be fine. and the v12 evo is a very good option. the treadwear is actually pretty decent for a summer tire.

The Falken 912s seem to wear out fairly quickly, so I'd lean to your other choices, but they aren't bad tires.

Stock tires are only good summer tires, other than that they kinda suck for any other seasons, especially if your up north. MGood as far as the eagle gt's, I have had them on for about 5k miles, they are unbelievable in the rain and great in light snow. After I bought the car I drove through the smokey mountains and hit some snow...I was going around tight turns around 50 and no slippage. Of all the tires I have run, I think the eagles are the most well rounded high performance all season, go with that.

the more important question is 'why would anyone care?'...the advans suck, dont do any one thing particularly well and are trumped by way way cheaper alternatives. i need one single tire 13k miles in (bubbles in the sidewall) and am happily replacing all 4 w/ a diff model...not even considering swapping the one bad advan to keep the other 3 around. good riddance.
