Too many wheel weights?

I just noticed that 3 of my wheels have ~1-2 ounces of wheel weights on it but the front drivers side one has like 4 ounces. It's a strip of like, 16 1/4-ounce weights.

Is that excessive?

The car drives fine though, on smooth tarmac, I can let go of the steering wheel at 80mph and there is zero shimmy in the steering wheel. Rock solid and buttery smooth.

You can have them shift the tire forward or backwards and rebalance and see where it goes or leave it alone since it doesn't shimmy

Should be fine. It's only 4 ounces. May have been a defect in the wheel.

That's not an unreasonable amount of weight.

^that amount of weight is fine some times tires and wheel have weight issues(defects) and when there put at the same spot it will require some additional weight to correct. That being said theres nothing to worry about just check wheels on trucks they have that issue more often cause they us more rubber than us.
