Full BBK (Front and Rear)

So, it has come to my attention that there really isn't a viable option out there right now as far as BBK's are concerned. I understand that AMS and MRT both have replacements for the front rotors, only. However, that isn't going to cut it. We need an affordable option to replace all 4 rotors and calipers.

I am trying to get the ball rolling in this regard. I am certain that I am going to have one made, as soon as I can. However, it occurred to me that others might be interested in this as well. If you are serious about tracking your car, this has to be done at some point. The target price is around $2,000. If there appears to be enough interest, I will go ahead and push for more kits to be made.

(Notice: This is going to take at least two months to complete. I will test everything thoroughly before anything is released. I will also update this thread, periodically.)

That being said, who would like a complete big brake kit?

We might also want to get a group-buy started on some nice coil-overs. A set of D2 coil-overs and a Big Brake Kit would be a sweeeettt setup.

I found that, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it costs a whole lot more than I think is reasonable to spend.

I think you'll be dreaming to get F&R for $2k or less.

Think yourself lucky you're not in Aus, I'm looking at doing this in the future and it'll cost be between $6 - $8k

This isn't rocket science. There is no way that a BBK should cost anywhere near that.

You would be shocked what an actual BBK takes to make.

the stop tech is roughly 1900$ for fronts and 1800$ for the rears.

Not a terrible price, as most people wont upgrade the rear.

2k for a nice upgraded kit that includes a nice dual or quad piston, with slotted rotors on all 4 corners for 2k is a pipe dream.

People need to make money my man.

I know. I am just amazed at how much money some of these companies are actually making. I mean, Stop-Tech is pocketing $1,700 per kit, if that it accurate (which I am sure that you are). That doesn't seem fair, to me. Sure, on a GT-R or a Porsche that costs $100,000, that price is such a small percentage of the actual car that it doesn't bother me. But on a $20k-$25k Ralliart? No one is going to pay that. I wouldn't.

I am telling you that this can be done. The problem is, once I have the brackets and such made, it will be up to the brake company how much to charge for the kit in the future. I can only buy so many pieces. I don't expect anything in return, either. I may charge a slight fee to recoup expenses, but I would be very up-front about that.

I may go ahead and let them handle producing this and selling it. It won't be cheap, though. However, the expense comes in when they have to front the capital (which is quite a lot) to make them on faith. I agree that they should make money for taking that risk.

stop tech themselves arent pocketing that off every kit.

for instance, i can get the stop tech kit for 500$ less from my distributor, but stop tech likes there stuff sold at the mrsp.

So really they are getting 1400, with a materials cost to cover and a hefty r&d they need to recover from the sales.

I will go ahead with this, then. I will buy 5 of them to sell. This won't be ready until June or July, anyhow.

I would still like to get a group-buy going on for coil-overs.

Mate we get screwed on everything down here............

Even look at the MRT kit, it's a larger 2 piston setup (and currently the cheapest option available for fronts) and it still costs $2300 uninstalled or $2500 installed.

For a "known" brand (Brembo, Stoptech, Alcon etc) in Aus you're looking at
$3500 - $6000 for Fronts and the same for rears, so it's actually $7000 - $12000 for a BBK

Remember also that the RA new in Aus is about $45000 - $55000 (depending on options) driveaway from a dealer (Evo is $60000 (GSR) - $80000 (MR)).

Companies only charge those prices to us cause they can. **** the AU$ has been worth more than the US$ for nearly 2 months now so you can look at those prices as a direct comparison

The irony is that I am looking to have this made in Australia.
