I need summer tires for the RA. Using 7.5 inch wheels. I think the 225/40/18 is the size i'm going for. This will be a summer only tire. I'm not that concerned with the tread life. I'm not looking for anything less that 15,000 mile ratings though. Noise and comfort are not an issue. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

There is a General tire (UHP i think?) that ranks slightly higher than KDWs on Tire rack that are pretty cheap. They dont have the grip of KDWs but dont have the road noise.

 

Maxxis MAZ1 should be in that price range too. they handle awesome in the wet, even with my last car, V6 + RWD with TCS off it wasn't scary, but i had 265's in back.

 

I have look at all tires suggested and wondered what people thought of the Kumho's Ecsta XS. They seam to be a very strong dry weather tire but wet traction was just the opposite. I'm wondering if people have tried these before and what they though.
