Drt rotors!

hi guys its about that time where i need new rotors. Stock ones are horrible. So i been doing some research and found out that DRT makes rotors which come cross drilled and slotted for our ralliarts. This car is tracked once or twice a year and i do abuse it sometimes lol. So any opinions on these rotors?

I have them on my car in Wallington if you want to see them. They work great.

There the same size, but remember the pad you use is super important too. I looked at DRT and there a good price however I went with EBC slotted and red stuff pads. A bit more on the pricey side but I know there a reputable company.

StopTech Premium Blanks

You won't need something more substantial than that, unless you start running a race-compound pad.

I should also note: I buy exclusively StopTech and DBA rotors. The quality, especially for the price, is phenomenal. DRT (and EBC) drilled rotors are going to come as slotted and then drilled after the fact. That is BAD BAD BAD.

I had DBA rotors go bad on me. The paint started to flake off and they rusted a bit. It seems like my case was rare though. That being said, for the most part, rotors are rotors are rotors. Their function is as a heat sink, and that's about it.

Slotted are nice for piece of mind but generally unnecessary with modern brake pads; modern pads don't produce the gases that pads used to decades ago.

Drilled are usually a no-no but it depends on the size of the rotor too; smaller rotors crack easily when drilled while larger are OK. It's more a visual thing anyways.

So far I've used DBAs, Powerslots, Centric, Brembo and NAPA rotors. All performed the same. If you want cheaper rotors, go with NAPAs. A lot of racers use them because they're fine quality wise and don't come with the baller price tag of other pieces which is great if you're replacing them regularly.

I installed them and drove around . The Racing Brake rotors I had on the rear were fine but the DBAs started to look like poop after a few weeks. I wasn't all that impressed.

I am sorry to hear that. I can assure you that that was most likely a fluke. I have nothing but good things to say about DBA.

I haven't yet heard of anyone using NAPA rotors, to be completely honest. The price-point of the StopTech's so low that I never bothered looking for something cheaper.

I had power slot on my Suzuki SX4 and the wife's Nissan Sentra, they lasted a long time and through some abuse. When it comes time to replace rotors the rear gets power slots and the fronts get Stop Tech big brakes.

Are you going to upgrade to St-40 calipers on the front?
