Speed Bleeders

I've been looking into these but I haven't found any really good info on them. I've seen one thread from an Evo X guy who had a bad experience but nothing else.

I'm considering putting Russel Speed Bleeders on all 4 corners of my stock brakes, and I wonder if anyone has any experience with them? Also, can anyone confirm the thread pattern is m7x1.0 ??

Cheers

just buy a pressure bleeder that will work on any car you buy. speed bleeders cost to much for what they are.

Speed bleeders tend to leak around the threads after you use them a few times rendering them useless.

I've seen some for less than $10 a pop. There seems to be variations in terms of internal mechanism. I say its worth a shot if you need to bleed by yourself often.

So I've gone and done it! I installed a set of Russell Speed Bleeders on the OEM calipers and I'm quite happy. I pulled the calipers off, sanded and painted them up and slapped on the new bleeders and they look rather nice! With the valves all cracked open I had my brakes clear of air in under 30 seconds for all 4 corners. I paid $25 CAD for all 4 bleeders, so I won't complain about pricing.

For anyone wondering, the thread pattern is M7x1.0

Can't you just use some 1/4 tubing and a box wrench?

My gf helped me bleed the brakes last weekend, it took like 30 min. Didn't even have to take the wheels off.
