Wheel Spacer Maximum Width on OEM Stud

What is the maximum spacer we can safely run without using extended studs? I mean having enough thread left over on the stock studs to properly torque and secure lug nuts. I've read answers ranging from 3mm to 15mm. Anyone with these installed care to chime in?

I thought about it too. but I believe any kind of spacer would put a greater load on the wheels bearings. That is why I decided to get different wheels make the wheel and fender more flush.

The thickness wouldn't be that much on the spacer if u got the spacer with the studs not the h n r type..

With my stock wheels I was using 8mm spacers without extended lugs. Now that I have my summer wheels on that are wider with a low offset Im running 10mm & 15mm extended lug spacers.
