16s will fit. i have 205/60R16's for my winter set for the RA (down from the stock 215/45R18). I have the Firestone Winterforce tires from my dealer and I love them. I've had the iPikes as well and loved those too. Definitely better traction in the cold than any all season could hope to deliver.

+1 on the michelin x-ice. I had 16" winter wheels on my RA. The tires are way more affordable in that size vs 18".

Every winter tire will get you 2- 3 good winters out of them before they are basically all seasons when the tread wears down.

I use 205/60R16 General Altimax Arctic. I just looked them up too and no longer available, but they were only $300. I store them in my garage on those rim racks I bought off of Amazon for $50. Either way, snow tires are so much better than any all season. I don't you can go wrong really, especially with AWD too. It's the other drivers out there not on snow tires.
Your from NYC, so you know how bad this last winter was.
To comment above 2-3 season is not accurate. I'm on my 4th season and this pass season was nuts.
I think its about 10k miles right now. Just form the performance and depth of the tread looks like it can go 15k or more miles.
I am installing them Mid December through end of March every season. Preserving my SuperSports.

Last year I ran Continental Extreme winter contact and they performed great and a friend of mine ran Toyo observe G02 plus and they seemed to have better ice grip.
