16" Winter wheels

Seattle area is looking to be hit with a pretty big snowstorm this week. I was hopeing I could get away with the stock Yoko's. Sunday proved me wrong, the car was sliding everywhere so it was time to buy some winters. The biggest part of this storm is hitting tonight so i had to get some new tires on my lunch break..
The only tires available around here for our 18" stock wheels were Blizzack's and $200 a tire.
So I ended up getting 16" Michelin X-ice Tires on some konig Zero-In's Steelies were sold out due to the comming storm and the cheapest 16" they had in stock were some fugly mb's that would have only saved me $5 a wheel. The total for the Michelins and konigs were $210. Seemed better to have two sets to easlily swap back to summers and not have to pay for installation fees.

I could have saved $200-300 being proactive and buying a winter set online at tirerack but I was ignorant (ex-californian) and now it's to late as winter is here.

I will update with pic on car tomorrow. And a review of these tires in the snow.

Night and Day difference in the Snow! left work early and had some fun in the parking lot before heading home to see the difference between Traction control on/off. SO Much fun!

Anyway here are the wheels on the car.

For winter wheels they don't look that bad, the black hides the familiar Mustang design.

The stock summer tires should be downright ILLEGAL in the snow.

You're gonna have a LOT of fun with winter tires. First thing I would do is find an empty parking lot somewhere with a few inches of snow, turn stability control off, put it in gravel mode (most tail happy), and effin FLOOR IT.

I like it a lot better now that I have snow tires, never had to buy seasonal tires before. Drifting around the empty snow filled parking lots make it all worth it!
