Okay, so when I bought my car with 235 miles there was a-lot of carbon in the tail pipes... I didn't think anything of it... Now @ 6500 miles I poor out purple smoke at ANY rpm other than idle. Anyone have any idea what this is? I am taking it into the dealer on Tuesday and they are going to do an oil change and look into this problem. But if you can give me any heads up before I go into the dealer.

Sounds like it's burning oil. Possible turbo seal or something larger.

Thanks guys! The Blue Bullet is checked in and awaiting a diag... It is a quart low after 3k miles and the exhaust fumes smell different... Like they are almost 'Sweet".... So I am also getting an oil change with Mobile 1.. It better be sometime simple or I might just be a little upset. :-/

Oh and I love the posts!!!!

No prob. Its all luv here @ EvoM

Question: Do you kno how long it has been burning oil? 1 qt is a lot if it jus happened recently if it was over a long period of time then not as bad but not good either.

**UPDATE** Alright, so here we go!!! I just called the dealership and apparently is was a TSB for out transmission, they need to reprogram the transmission so there is less load. My guess is the shifting times are to early in "normal" mode. I will keep you all posted with any further results..

cool. I guess i might get mine checked out as well. White smoke came into my cabin when i used the AC yesterday, the last time that happened was when i first got the car.

**** FINAL UPDATE *** So first with the low oil, apparently when the dealer puts in Mobile 1 they dont fill to the line... So I did not loose any oil. Second... they updated the Trannie to create less load on the engine to prevent smoking and un needed wear on the engine. Third... they updated the ECU so my car starts in COLD weather and does not hesitate during take off. Lastly they changed the parameters in my O2 sensor to be a little more lenient... My guess is the car I have is under review and they said I need to come back in 3k miles no matter what to have then check over the car again. My oil is SUPER black he said.. Maybe I might be the first of many people to have these issues.

Take you RA in ASAP and get all the updates you can, especially the one that lets the car start in cold weather.

Any idea how the cold start flash works and how does it help hesitation? By hesitation, do you mean like a stutter or lag time? I had no problems last winter but if it helps other issues maybe it is worth while.
