Has anyone confirmed the difference between our SST and the EVO SST? There was something going around that it was just the way it was tuned and therefore our gearboxes could handle alot more than people thought.

Either way, great figures and as long as you're happy with the results then that's all that matters
Yup. If you want to be limited to 300/300 then you can live with a stock EVO X turbo. For that small of an upgrade I don't think it is worth the effort. Since I want MORE than 300/300 I would need to do the transmission mods in addition to power mods... and if your SST can handle more power, then why not do the cams and FP red along with fuel system for running E-85 all at once... hence needing to win the lottery

I just realized that there isn't an RPM given along with the peak values:

Run 1 peak HP was 259.61 at 5750 RPM and torque peak was 283.66 at 4300 RPM.

Run 2 peak HP was 256.82 at 5580 RPM and torque peak was 286.60 at 4250 RPM.

Run 2 peak HP was 251.85 at 5700 RPM and torque peak was 279.45 at 4160 RPM. Run 3 was the run that had the phantom knock right at 4300 RPM jacking up the results.

Later,

Keith

i don't think the 300/300 is confirmed i think people are doing it but they are playing with fire. of course AMS is in that range but they could afford to blow the tranny. i bet once the tranny goes on the AMS ralliart, Eric is gonna go for a straight GSR manual conversion. but thats AMS compared to us boke asses, see most of us can't afford $6,000 for parts and labor on a tranny swap. i don't know for sure if thats what it will cost but i know its definately better then buying a 12,000 SSt tranny. my clutches are already slipping at the same wtq that fourdoor has thats why we needed to bting down a bit.

As far as EVO SST and RA SST different tuning, different gear ratios and other hardware as well but the person i spoke to would not disclose that part.

Evo x swap isnt THAT hard. I could do it in a day now. As long as you know where your brackets and oil/coolant lines attach at, its fairly easy.

Why spend $6000 on swapping out a transmission when you can spend $1000 on upgraded clutches for the SST? One of the biggest advantages AMS has is using a shop vehicle with the SST in it since that increases the likelihood of business from Ralliart, and EVO X MR owners.... sort of silly to throw away that marketing advantage.

Keith, didn't you have an earlier post where you stated about a 70 HP increase from your round of mods? Looks like your estimates were not too far off.

Yup, I made a claim of approx 71 CRANK hp gained from my mods, and was pretty much told there was no way this was possible by someone.... but if you do a bit of estimates of crank HP based on this dyno's readings for a stock Ralliart and my current readings it turns out I gained about 75 CRANK hp (less wheel HP of course, about 61 WHP)
